A total of 19 deaths from covid-19 were registered in the country in the epidemiological week from August 21 to 27, according to the latest weekly report from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The total number of deaths in Panama to date, since the covid-19 pandemic began, is 8,470.

For this epidemiological week in which 41,560 tests were carried out, 5,321 new positive cases were registered, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 978,181.

The total number of active cases is 7,431. Those who were in home isolation until July 16 were 7,645, while those hospitalized in the ward were 140 and in the ICU until that date there were 22 patients.

The total number of recovered patients to date amounts to 962,280
