Alonso Vega Pino took on the morning of this Friday, June 1, the position of general director of the National Police (PN).

Vega Pino is in charge of this entity, after Omar Pinzón accepted his retirement.

The president of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, the chancellor and vice president Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, among other authorities, participated in the ceremony of change of police command, made at the headquarters of the institution in Ancon.

Vega Pino thanked the responsibility assigned to her from the date.

“I know it’s a complex and difficult commitment.” However, he said that strategies will be strengthened to fulfill the citizenship with maximum efficiency.

“Today I assume a new challenge, but with the conviction that our north will always be fighting crime, walking hand in hand with the community to continue guaranteeing the coexistence between all and the rescue of public spaces,” he said.
