The presidential candidate of Cambio Democrático (CD), Rómulo Roux, assured this Monday, July 10, that he, as president of the Board of Directors of his collective, will not authorize deputy Yanibel Ábrego to run for a popularly elected position for another party. .

Roux made it clear that he will not postulate her as a candidate for deputy for CD either. “The rules of the game simply say that if you run for a position in a party in a primary and you lose, you cannot run for any popular election position, she should not be on any ballot to run for a popular election position in 2024 ”, he explained.

He pointed out that Ábrego has to decide his future and that he cannot, as president of a political party, nominate someone or offer the CD platform for someone to go and seek votes for another presidential candidate.

In this sense, Ábrego, current deputy of the 13-2 circuit of Capira, ran as a presidential pre-candidate for CD in a primary and after losing, she will not be able to be nominated for any popular election position for the next electoral elections.
