The Ministry of Health (Minsa) assured that the antiviral treatments Remdesivir, Molnupiravir and Paxlovid have given the expected results, since they have reduced the impact of symptoms in patients with covid-19.
Yashica González, coordinator of the outpatient services of the Figaly Care Center aimed at Covid-19 patients, emphasized in a statement that antiviral treatments in patients have had a very good response by reducing the impact on symptoms and little presentation of adverse effects, in some cases slightly.
On June 15, the Figali Care Center received the first 300 doses of Molnupiravir for the 30 covid-19 patients, who are under surveillance and for those who receive little oxygen support.
For that same date, the Minsa began distributing the first doses of the drug in the 15 health regions of Panama.
The coordinator of outpatient services at the Figaly Care Center explained that after the patient recovers clinically, the Post-Covid service is offered to monitor and treat any sequelae that may manifest.
He added that the center enabled for Covid-19 care in Figaly maintains hospitalization services in the Special Respiratory Care Unit (UCRE) for patients who, due to their clinical condition, need oxygen therapy management.
“Currently this unit provides care to 5 patients who have been evolving satisfactorily,” said the doctor.
González also reiterated that Figaly offers the so-called “complete circuit”, which consists of taking swabs, outpatient services for those who are detected positive, and Post-Covid clinics.
Outpatient care and swab collection at the facility will be carried out from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the procedure consists of contacting the WhatsApp line 6120-54-62 to obtain the appointment and in In this sense, treat the symptoms caused by the virus in a timely manner, indicated the coordinator of the outpatient services of the Figaly Care Center.
