The MarViva Foundation announced that 200 people participated in the # ChaoPlásticoDesechable 5K Race on Sunday, “it represented a firm action to sensitize more Panamanians to live in harmony with the environment.”

In the competition, Mathew Castillo took first place with a time of 17 minutes and 23 seconds, followed by Alfredo Suárez, with 19 minutes and 49 seconds. In the third place was placed Obeth Castillo, with 20 minutes with 34 seconds.

In the women’s category, Valentina Peña achieved first place and the third best record of the race with time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. Behind were Bibiana Galeano with 26 minutes with 43 seconds and Maru Reyes 26 minutes with 49 seconds.

“With 100% of the proceeds from the race, MarViva will support its work to raise awareness about the impacts of marine pollution by disposable plastic in schools in the area of ​​influence where it works,” Oenegé said in a statement.
