President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., arrived on Wednesday, June 12, at the US Congress to testify before a Senate committee and confirm the statements he gave during the investigation into Russian interference in the last presidential elections.

“Nothing to correct,” Trump Jr. told reporters upon arriving at the Capitol for a four-hour hearing.

Trump Jr. will testify behind closed doors before the Senate Intelligence Committee, a panel led by Republicans investigating the Russian interference in the US presidential elections of 2016 two years ago.

The businessman, 41, is the one who runs The Trump Organization, the group of companies that for decades was in charge of his father.

Inside the room, Trump Jr. will face questions about a much-discussed meeting at the Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer, who offered “dirty” information about the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Some Democrats suspect that the president’s son may have lied about what he and his father knew about that meeting, which took place in June 2016.

According to the US press, the senators will also question Trump Jr. about a project to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.

In May, President Trump said he was “very surprised” by this new call to declare that he received his son.

The panel’s chairman, Republican Sen. Richard Burr, faced criticism from his own party for requesting Trump Jr. to testify a second time, due to discrepancies between his original testimony of 2017 and that of other witnesses.
