Panamanians living abroad getting ready for absentee ballots or (RERE)

Since last April 23, Panamanians living abroad who registered in the Register of Resident Voters Abroad (RERE) began the voting process through the Internet.

Until midnight on Thursday, May 2 (Panama time), the 7 thousand 725 Panamanian voters are authorized to exercise their right to vote (only for the office of President of the Republic) from the 92 countries from which the applications were received. last year.

Of the number registered in the RERE, 4,337 correspond to women, and 3 thousand 388 are men.

According to the statistics handled by the Special Voting Commission of the General Elections Plan (Plagel), the United States is the country with the largest number of Panamanians registered to vote online with 5 thousand 59 voters; followed by Spain (337); Costa Rica (312); Colombia (193); Mexico (181); Canada (171); Venezuela (159); Italy (112), and Germany with 102 voters.

Regarding the age range, the voters who registered for the RERE are between 31 and 40 years old (one thousand 805 voters), followed by those from 41 to 50 years (thousand 316), those from 26 to 30 years (thousand 202), from 51 to 60 years (one thousand 90), 61 to 70 years (905), 18 to 25 years (747), 71 to 80 years (485), 81 to 90 years (143) and finally those of 91 and more years (32).

The Electoral Tribunal (TE) reported that voters who are registered in the RERE, who have not voted online, and are in the country on Sunday, May 5 may exercise the vote. This will only be for the office of President of the Republic, at the special table that the TE will install at its headquarters.
