Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó , recognized by some 50 countries as interim president of his country and seeking more resolute support from Brazil, arrived early Thursday at Brasilia, local press reported, and will be received in the afternoon hours. by President Jair Bolsonaro, before his announced return to Caracas, where he could face justice.

Bolsonaro “will receive Guaidó on a personal visit” that will begin at 2:00 pm local time (1700 GMT) at the Planalto palace, Brazilian Presidential spokesperson Otávio Rêgo Barros said on Wednesday.
Guaidó, from Bogotá, arrived at the International Airport of Brasilia at 0140 local time (0440 GMT), said the G1 portal.
The ambassador appointed by Guaidó in Brazil, María Teresa Belandria, said that the opposition leader will also be received “by numerous representatives of the diplomatic delegations present in Brasilia who have recognized him as the legitimate interim president of Venezuela.”
