A large amount of garbage was collected at Bella Vista beach, in Guararé, to avoid affecting the marine species of the sector.

The Ministry of Environment staff and a group of volunteers collected plastic, glass, tires and cans in the area of Bella Vista beach.

In addition to the Ministry of Environment, the environmental group Boca Estero and the officials of the Mayor’s Office of Guararé participated.

Alexis Rivera, a biologist who was in the activity, indicated that the waste collected in that area causes species of great environmental and economic value to disappear due to the intake of plastic, which harms the digestive system.

During the cleaning operation in this area it was possible to observe specimens of green turtles, which are in danger of extinction.
